![]() Compu-Fire Gen-III Starter The Compu-Fire Gen-III Starters are the only starters in the V-Twin Motorcycle industry that are engineered for cranking the large displacement, high compression engines without the need for compression releases. The Gen-III Starter produces more cranking power than 2KW starters with half the current draw. The high energy neodymium magnets, high efficiency motor windings, and 6:1 planetary gear reduction are unique to this starter. The splined output shaft, stepped jackshaft bolt, and shortened case design allow just one part number to cover all Big Twins from 1990 to present. Part number 53883 fits Sportsters. Use Part Number 53507 to adapt Gen III starter motors for BDL Open Belt Drives. 53700 1990-1999 EVO Big Twins 53883 1981 - Up Sportsters 53900 - 1999-2006 Twin Cam (Dyna1999-2005). |

New Gen3 Starter for DSSC Compu-Fire Performance products is pleased to announce a new application for the popular Gen3 Starter Motor. The new Gen3 will now operate with the Baker (TM) Drop Starter Slam Clutch Right Side Drive Transmission. The Compu-Fire starter features a highly effecient motor design that produces 2kw of cranking power while only drawing one half the amps out of the battery compared to other units available. The starter has a lower reduction gear ratio of 6:1 for more torque and a six pole permanent magnet field design to eliminate starter stall-out. The industrial strength DURA-START clutch insures reliable starting of large displacement engines without the need of COMPRESSION RELEASES and the starters are American made. |

Fire Ignition Coils The new Compu-Fire Single-Fire coils are a modern molded case design with 2.5 ohms primary resistance and produce 100 millijoules of spark energy. The long duration spark produces maximum torque in today’s large displacement high performance V-Twin engines. The small case allows for easy mounting in tight locations using aftermarket coil bracket kits. Use Compu-Fire Tach Adapter P/N 51105 for corrected tach signal. |
